National Trails Day - June 7

We headed out early to meet for the Picture Rock trail day on the Heil/Hall connector in Lyons. It was an amazing day and I'm happy to have been involved, there were 225 volunteers and 8400' of trail were cut in, only 1200' left to go! That's absolutely amazing! I was beyond sore the next day and I slept from 6:30 to 6am Sat to Sun, woke up with a sore stiff knee that kept me from going on this ride on Sunday...but it was worth it!

We were on a crew with Jen, Jesper & Tracy and our crew leader Kristen was amazing!

Friday Night Date Ride

Last Friday Dan and I rode Hall after work and we saw Jen & Jesper and Jason & Tracy out there and we thought it would be really fun to all get together for a Friday Night Date Ride, since we were all riding just not riding together.

5 couples showed up @ Hall on Friday for the ride from hell, Dan & myself, Cynthia & Dave, Jen & Jesper, Tracy & Jason and our friends Chuck & Niina.

It had rained all day Thursday but since it was windy and sunny all day Friday we figured Hall would have dried out pretty good. The upper loop was fine but the rock garden wasn't, there were sections of standing water that seemed to be placed right before all the sections that gave us girls problems in the past. Needless to say, none of us rode with the grace or power that we usually do and most of us ended up on the ground sometime or another.

Not too many pics, I was having too much fun just hanging out and trying not to hurt myself.

Tracy gets the award for the most tenacious rider ever :) The girl will try and try and try and try and try and try and try and try until she gets it. It's inspiring :)

Cynthia get the sheer power award since she blew her tire completely off her rim by just pedaling :)

Here's my knee after sliding off the rock face

Here's Dave powering up a section. See the guy in the green jersey in the background? He made a total ass out of himself with all of us to witness. He tried to make it up that section again and his bike had issues shifting and he actually threw his bike off the trail while he was yelling and swearing at the top of his lungs! Dan was standing right next to him and luckily didn't get a bike in the face and the rest of us were all standing at the bottom of the section starring in horror.

We all headed over to Oskar Blues for some beer, food and awesome conversation.

Jesper's got some pics posted on his site.

Red Wings take the cup!

Finally...they sealed the deal, not without a few scary moments. Hudler once again got a stupid penalty within the 2 minute mark and put the Red Wings down 4 men to 6, what a jackass! Then within the last second a shot almost went in but just slid across the crease.

It was kinda bittersweet, they were away and couldn't really celebrate like they would have if they had won the cup in Detroit....it was still great to see them win!

Versacart Video

So I work for a company that makes shopping carts. Our "claim to fame" is a cart called the EZcart which can be found at stores like Whole Foods.

Here's what they look like.

We make different shopping carts but the EZcart is a big seller. Anyway, a couple months ago my boss approached me and asked if I wanted to be involved in a small promotional video and I said sure. Here's the result, it's called Stop The Struggle:

Checkout our website if you ever need any carts :)

F'N Red Wings

They were in the lead 3-2 and in the last 33 seconds OF THE GAME, Osgood missed a save and the Penguins tied it up....WTF! All they had to do is last 33 seconds longer and they would have had the STANLEY CUP! 3 OT's later....yes 3 overtimes later (that's like playing 2 games back to back in one night), Jiri Hudler gets a high stick penatly, drew blood and got a 4 minute penatly, the Penguins score the winning goal like 40 seconds later.

F'N Red Wings......

Estes Park Ride

Bryan assured us that this wasn't a "secret" trail ride, that it was on the maps but it sure felt secret, he took us on part of the 2007 Spring Death March ride which included stupidly steep jeep roads and amazingly beautiful singletrack.

I'm so happy to be riding with girls that can ride, Cynthia, Tracy and Emily are such good riders and I'm so happy to have met them. Cynthia is such a powerhouse (she did a 22 mile time trial the day before on her singlespeed and still came out and rode with us today), Emily is the minimalist who can out climb anyone and Tracy is such a riot...I don't think she has fear, she's just so happy and stoked to be out riding, fear just doesn't register with her! It's going to be an awesome summer! And I can't wait to ride with Tracy & Jason out at Keystone....we'll even get Cynthia all dudded out in body armor and show her the ropes of lift assisted riding :)

I'll let the pictures tell the story
